Lucid Aids (return to 'Articles')
If you’ve done any exploring of the internet looking for information on lucid dreaming you’ll most likely have come across many products designed to help you achieve lucidity. We’ll take a look at the various products available and how effective they might be.
What’s available?
There are a huge variety of lucid aids available. They include the simple (computer programs that periodically remind you to do reality checks), the good old-fashioned book (for example Stephen Laberge’s Lucid Dreaming, and the more complicated (for example the Nova Dreamer mask – a battery operated machine designed to give occasional signals whilst you sleep).Do they help?
It’s important to use your common sense before spending money on any ‘wonder-product’. Use your common sense. Whilst a book about lucid dreaming will no doubt help you understand more about the phenomenon, you will regret spending a fortune on a different aid if it doesn’t work. A good idea would be to visit forums before making any purchase. You will be able to judge for yourself whether or not the product will help you (forums are usually a good place to find honest opinions). Obviously, if you do have success using a product, let us know about your experience.I don’t want to buy anything online
